Can I salvage parts from an old electronic device that was in the rain? The device was turned off and I want to know if I salvage parts like capacitors, motors, and other stuff from it, will the parts work fine when dried?
If it all dried well enough,
If it all dried well enough, and there is no rust, there shouldn’t be a problem I think.
Just check the parts you want in a simple circuit without expensive stuff in it, and you should be fine.
Almost certainly, if
Almost certainly, if everything was powered off and there is no corrosion or rust. You can wash a computer keyboard in a dishwasher and be fine if you let it dry. I once spilled an entire cup of coffee in my laptop. I powered it off, completely disassembed it, let it dry, put it back together and it was fine.
