Robotic pets are becoming more and more common and more present in households. These artificially intelligent machines made to ressemble common pets such as cats and dogs now mimic pets more naturally and are less work to take care of than actual pets. Over the years we have heard customers name the
Thank you for writing this article, it helped assist my friend and I in our research for a project we were completing. We found this article very useful!
This is actually disgusting. I cannot believe anyone would be this heartless and ignorant to say robots, literally ROBOTS would replace our furry friends in ten years. I will never buy one of these gadgets, pets warm the hearts of the elderly in the hospital. Pets warn people of danger. Pets are the most loyal friend anyone can have and you people are trying to replace the living being who is so pure and actually prevents some illnesses, tells some people (such as those who are diabetic) when their sugar drops, they LOVE and all a robot is is a cold hearted machine. This makes me sick.
@Rachel There are arguments to both sides. Pets also take considerable care, and being away from them (for example while at work) is not good either. Robot pets may be a good option for anyone who, for whatever reason, cannot have pets.
This is wrong, animals are the greatest gift that ever happend to humans now their getting replaced by animals.first of all robots dont have feelings, they are not warm and fuzzy and only react to certain commands.owning a real pet will teach you to be caring and be responsible enough to take care of it.animals will get abandoned just because of some robotic pet, what about the animals who actually have feelings, ill tell you what will happend they will get abandoned with no home or killed like by every animal shelter.stand up animals have feelings they cant speak up for themselves speak up for them of you.if you people have hearts speak up and support them.we already are loosing animals due to them going extinct by animal hunters we dont need to loose anymore.so i dont support robots u can but i dont want to loose anymore animals.
@Lila Appreciate your opinion. We too care very much for animals. Robotic companions may help those who are unable to care for real pets to have some companionship as well. This might also prevent people who are unsure of they want a pet from buying and possibly abandoning one. Keep in mind the high % of abandoned rabbits after Easter. Not everyone who buys a real pet properly cares for it.
How can you feel attached to something that does not feel anything. By taking a dog from shelter you make the dog happy, you save this dog from possible putting down (in some countries) and you get a friend who really loves you. Robots only imitate pet’s behaviour, they don’t feel anything and have no emotions. While I’m all for tech progress, I find the idea somehow disturbing and potentially dangerous for pets well being. I’d rather want a robot who can take care of my real pets when I need to leave for a few days. I’m afraid these robot dogs can make some dogs in shelters never find a new owner and being killed( as they call it “put down”, but actually it’s just a murder).
