a (silly?) newbie- question: Can I connect the SP2- Controller (via Sony Playstation Controller Cableadapter) directly to a SSC-32- Board or do I need a BotBoard II to realize this?
A second question: Can I control any axis of my new Robot Arm AL5C with a SP2- controller (4 axis + gripper + wrist rotate upgrade)?
Oops sorry. Yes you can control the arm with a USB version of the PS2 controller using RIOS. Or you can control it with a standard PS2 controller connected to our botboard and an atom processor. We are currently working on improving the code for better control and to use the Atom Pro processor.
Note you don’t need a USB PS2 controller to use RIOS. The mouse and keyboard interface does a good job of control.
The Bot Board programming packs listed on the arm pages allow replacing the PC if you were for example making a trade show demo and don’t want to lug a PC along. RIOS can export basic programs for atoms or stamps of the sequences.
One last newbie- question: Is it o.k., that I buy (for example by the big worldwide shop with the “A”) a normal/standard/original PS2- controller and a “PS2 to USB- PC- adaptor/converter” and it will probably work with the PC/AL5C/SSC-32/RIOS- combination?
