I was talking to Nathan at Basic Micro and the subject of programming manuals came up. There is a gray area between making a manual that provides programmers the information they need to write their program and providing a beginner the information they need to learn to program. Writing a programming tutorial is a daunting task for anyone, and it is a difficult enough task to keep the basics updated. I think the Atoms are a great product. They make things possible that basic stamps just can not do. I came up with the idea to make it open source, and Nathan refined the idea recommending a wiki. He said there is a free wiki program here. wikimatrix.org/ We both think this is a no brainer. Would the forum at large be interested in assisting with this endeavor?
I’ve put in a request to start a page on wikia.com(the same guys that run wikipedia). If I get the page we’ll use that if not we’ll choose one of the packages from wikimatrix.
I’m willing to input data to get the Wiki started.
Sounds great to me . I am not very good at writing, but I will try to help out as best as I can…
I would love to see a wiki!
I don’t think they are that hard to set up are they? Why do you have to go through wikia?
They are not hard to setup. I just setup forums (SMF), Wiki (TikiWiki), and Blogs (Serendipity) on one of my sites. I run the software and I can tinker with and change it in any way I choose. No homing of pages on somebody else’s site for me. I have a .info domain for this purpose.
