Wierd problem with the spider controller and tb6612fng motor driver, automatically turning on

Hello LMRians,

I am trying to hook up the spider controller to a tb6612fng motor driver. I have made the connections as foll-ows:

Vcc of the motor driver - Vcc of the spider controller

Gnd - Gnd

Motor pins to Output pins on the motor driver

Digital pins to Input pins on the motor driver ( and also the STBY pin to the digital pin)

Vmot to positive batery terminal 7.2 V lion and GND to negative terminal

I haven't powered up the spider controller yet, and the wierd issue i get is that the spider controller turns on automatically,

It didn't happen for one moment, i removed the battery terminals, and re-connected to the motor driver, problem resumes again :(

Even the driver is getting hot, and i have checked the connections a hundred times. Also, supplied the logic voltage first, then only the motor voltage.

Have not uploaded a program either, so it's no issue of the motors drawing too much current, i guess.

What could be the issue  guys? Already burnt the 4 channel controller :-( don't want to lose spidy so early ;-)

Thanks

Ashim
