Since my robot is connected via Wibots in AD-HOC mode and working well. Is it possible to connect in Infradtructure mode? that we can control via internet different computer, not only point to point?
You would most likely have to have a regular access point to use infrastructure mode, or one of the robots would have to be capable of being an access point.
Consider getting one of the inexpensive LinkSys wifi routers and putting the guts on a robot. I am thinking about going this route eventually.
Thks Linuxguy. Pls let me know your result because at this moment I will not change to Infrastructure mode as I don’t want to change setting until I finish my project.
bst rgds,
Ricky
I don’t have anything more for you on this. I don’t know if various wifi adapters can connect in infrastructure mode without an access point. WiFi G routers are so inexpensive these days, it would not cost much to get a good LinkSys unit now.
Thks, I do have a WRT54G router and they do support DDNS and infrastructure mode. I use a Air Station G54 to search, it shows both WRT54G (Access point) and Wiport (my robot) in different mode. Is it to change Wiport to infrastructure mode then WRT54G will get connect automatically? I’ll try later.
You have to have your access point/router and wireless devices in the same mode for them to properly connect. So, you’ll need to check and change your settings on the wiport to match that of the router.
hi all
I’m soon going to get a BRAT, and was looking for additional stuff so that I could buy everything together.
The wibotics.com/ site doesn’t seem to be selling anything anymore and I was wondering how to get the Wibots module. Is it going to open back?
