Hey Greg!

If you are just starting out, the best would be to identify the lower cost and simplest device/sensor that will fulfill your needs.

Therefore, the first step would be to identify your requirements for your project(s).

You can learn some more about various LIDAR types and their specifications here.

Once you have identified better your needs and what kind of LIDAR would help, let us know in your reply and we’ll do our best to help you find a good option!

Sincerely,

yeah I was looking for a land based system that can provide us with 3d scan in 360 to the mm that we can then turn nto CAD drawing and such. So I am looking for expensive turnkey system. Im not smart enough to make my own or a robot! but I can use a scanner and get the date then we can go from there. It is cheaper to spend the 100k to buy a turnkey system than to find and continue to pay a survey company to do it. I can push a button and let the scanner do its thing and get my DATA!!! then we can use software to take it to cad style files. so that side we are looking at is done. THEN we can use the DATA to try to do something new within our industry to make a service that is provided to us at a cost and is not of good quality better!! and to 2018 lazer standers and not measured with a tape measure

I’m not sure what I understood exactly what you need… Are you saying that you need professional 360 3D LIDAR scanner (even for 100K wow! anyway i’ve not seen scanners at this price https://www.robotshop.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif ) There are several LIDAR scanners at the market such as Lieca BLK360 (laserscanning-america.com/bl … ocus-m-70/), Artec Ray . They cost from 20 to 70k approx.
More expensive - more precise. You can find more info by youself if you need or PM me. Anyway it’s robotics forum and this is offtopic here i believe.
