Hi,
Which wires on a 12V DC Motor/ Encoder do I connect to a Cytron Motor Driver?
Motor Driver - Cytron 10A 5-30V Dual Channel DC Motor Driver - RobotShop
Motor - 12V, 313RPM 416.6oz-in HD Premium Planetary Gearmotor w/ Encoder - RobotShop
I have connected the motor Channel A (yellow) and B (brown) wires to the relevant terminals of the motor driver (M1A and M1B). So the yellow cable from the motor goes to M1A on the motor driver and the brown wire from the motor goes to M1B on the motor driver. But when I use the test buttons on the motor driver, the motor doesn’t turn. Is this the correct arrangement?
I don’t think the issue is with the motor or battery supply, because when I connect the motor and 12V battery directly via the - and + motor wires, the motor turns.
Connecting the - and + motor wires to the motor driver results in the motor turning when the test button is pressed on the motor driver but there is a burning smell from the motor.
The intention will be to connect the motor driver to a Raspberry Pi as part of a robot wheel drive system.
Thanks
