I would appreciate knowing what brand of USB to Serial Adapter is known to work with the Atom. Are there any special settings?
thanks
Hank

The Bafo 810 and IOGear GUC232A are verified to work on desktop and laptop machines. Some have reported trouble with the Bafo one on a laptop. I believe there are a few users having trouble with laptops, but there are probably hundreds of usres that are not having a problem. There are several threads on this subject listing more adaptors and explaining some OS setting to change. So you may just want to dive into the forum and read.
On the laptop issue. Nathan at Basic Micro has offered to dig deeper into the issues if we can provide him with much more information. Laptop make, model, OS info, installed software etc. I will set up a sticky post for this.
I posted a reply in another thread, but thought I would mention it here as well.
I was having problems with the Bafo 810 on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 5100).
Today I tried plugging the Bafo into a powered linksys USB hub and it worked like a champ .
