I would like to add a feature on my robot that would raise a webcam from a certain position on top of the robot to about 1 meter above that position and can stay at any position in between, is there an actuator not too expensive that would be able to do this?
Aside from linear actuators, we do not have any specific actuators which can do what you want.
You might consider creating a mechanical system (like a forklift, scissor lift, pulley system or other) which can do what you want.
