What will the rpm of a 12V DC motor be at 3V?

I am looking to replace a failed motor with the dimensions of this motor (16mm Flat Geared Motor Mini Full Metal Electric DC 12V Gear Motor Micro DC Motor 340RPM - RobotShop). However, my available voltage is only 3V, not the rated 12V. First: will this motor operate at 3V and if so, what would be the expected RPM (is the rpm linear with voltage?)

Hi @kaertai and welcome to our forum.

For a fixed load, the speed of the motor is affected by the applied voltage. Increase in voltage = increase in speed.

But, it is not recommended to run 12VDC motor on 3VDC for a long time. It will work but it will definitely reduced its lifetime.
