Hi, I’m trying to build a flippable workbench for my powertools in the garage- so naturally, I want it automated! The idea is that the tool will be mounted to the top platform of the table, which can then rotate 180 degrees on a steel beam to store the tools underneath (suspended upside-down). I have been trying to figure out the best way to automate this, and have made a simple remote-controlled Arduino prototype with a stepper motor, but maybe a servo would work better? What type of motor should I use, and how do I know if a motor is powerful enough to rotate a 40 - 50 pound tool? Is there a simple way to have a switch on the side of the table that could control the rotation? I am also hoping to have it plug into the wall rather than a battery, since I will be using it for a long time. Thank you so much for the help! Hope it’s possible!
Hi brianegan,
What’s not working with your “stepper” approach ?
