Hi guys I have recently have made an 3 servo hexapod and I dont know what to do next any suggestions would be helpful
how about giving it some
how about giving it some personality?
make it seem more ‘alive’ with some sounds, maybe some LEDs or an LCD or something.
new robot
I want to make a new robot and the hexapod can fit in youre palm so not much place for development. And also do you think I should make an development platform. or make a new robot each time.
do you think I should make this
do you guys I should make this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51TgbvcNwCQ&feature=channel_video_title it seems a bit complicated and the micro controller can be used for anything
that depends on how much
that depends on how much money you are willing to spend.
also so you want to own multiple bots and preserve their individual charm?
building a development platform is a great way to save money though,
and also the time you wont have to spend on the chassis for every bot.
but if you cant decide, why not do both?
make a development platform, experiment and once u have something u feel is worth keeping,
replicate it, or even redesign the chassis so it looks better (V1.0 tends to be messy :P)
** The worst part of building**
The worst part of building robots is knowing what to build next…
I’ve been doing this for over 10 years and I always struggle to make up my mind on my next robot.
In my shop I’m literally surrounded by well over 50 robots.
So if your on robot number 2, then you have a lot of robots to build young man!!! -LOL
BTW did you know there is a robotics group in St Louis?
They are a bunch of good guys who build all kinds of good stuff, check them out!
thank you
Thank you myblack60impala I have actually been to robomo about 3 or 4 times and how did you know I am young cause I am only 12.9 years old and also I will put a better post of my hexapod later. And what do you reccomend I do.
I mentioned Robomo because
I mentioned Robomo because your location. I didn’t know you had been to a meeting. Click your user name and it says:
Location: st.louis, missouri, usa
One of my favorite things about this online group is talking to people from all around the world who share my interests.
So I frequently look to see where people are from.
As far as your next project:
Robomo is having a mini sumo comp during the December meeting. There’s not much time, but you could build one to enter their competition. Or just buy a kit mini sumo. I like these mini sumo kits.
Winfield Mike has donated $50 as a prize to the events winner.
I said “young man” as you have only built 1 robot, where I have built many. So your young in the ways of building robots.
I ment it as a joke…
to bad
Its to bad I cant enter the competition because I moved about 2 months back. But I still dont know what to do
Build a sumo
and test it, then build a second to really test your skills.
