Im looking to create a temperature sensor that triggers an alarm when a heat source directly touches the temperature sensor, e.g a hot water spillage, what type of sensor would be suitable for this purpose??
also has to be Arduino compatible!!!

At what temperature do you want the system to trigger and what is the maximum temperature you will be reading?
This is important you don’t want to burn the sensor by reading a temperature too hot

it’s for use in the kitchen as a means of burn protection, so probably around 150 degrees Celsius?
In this case, I would suggest an infrared temperature reader since you’re reading high temperatures:
This one can read temperatures up to 380 degree C
