These are not drones. A drone files autonomously

These are UAVs. That there is no pilot in the craft does not make it a drone.

You are correct that a “drone” must be able to fly without user input. Products like the DJI Phantom often have a return to home feature and more recently can fly autonomously given GPS coordinates.
