I was just tipped by LMR member 6677 about this site, that I am not even going to link to:
robot-kingdom dot com
Apparently most - if not all of the articles there is our material:
Rripped from LMR, usually without any credit given - There's a big chance you can find your own stuff there, 1:1 or put together in mashups, have a look, I found several of my things there, some re-written, some just copy-pasted.
I personally think it's 100% OK to re-publish. But not without linking back, and never when stripping away the names of the original author.
There's no "Contact" on the page, but looking up the domain name, I found the below..
Admin Email: [email protected] Tech Name: Natalie Lee Tech Organization: Tech Street: 1 Billinton Way Tech City: Brighton Tech State/Province: East Sussex Tech Postal Code: BN1 4LF Tech Country: United Kingdom Tech Phone: +44.447546032765
Let me hear what you guys think & feel about this?
I just looked up Edward on that site. They mixed up the text from the page of my first robot and altered it here and there. There is no mention of my name or or nickname anything. other posts do show references to handles used on LMR.
On the one hand, there’s copyright symbols and, even worse, advertisement all over the site. That means the cullprit is making money off this.
At least there’s LetsMakeRobots.com in most video’s. So on the other hand I am inclined to rephrase Obi Wan Kenobi : “this little one is not worth the effort”
I have checked the site and only one of my robots made it (Compact) and my user name is mentioned in square brackets. He (or she) thought that the Sharp IR sensor I used was an Ultrasonic sensor, although it is listed correctly in the parts list. So I registered and posted a comment asking the webmaster to correct the error and link the original article that I wrote on 2 sites plus my blog, giving him the links in the comment. Perhaps this will result in more trafic to the sites I linked. Yeah. Thanks for letting us know about this Frits!
Some sites have attorneys to send legal letters if someone out there is violating them… It’s freaking funky that we do not need that!
Thank you!
They where contacted on several channals. As always un-coordinated, but yet LMR-ALABTU-effective.
And everything that you guys did has lead to the site appologizing, and have - as far as I can tell, now included links and names on all articles from LMR.
Wicked cool, I feel proud that once again we have shown that we have both the balls and the smile
