What servos for a shoulder

Hi folks,

I want to put some better servos at the shoulder from my SES Arm. In the moment I’m using YangDong Servos (I bought this arm used at a forum) but they have to much tolerance. First I wanted to change the complete shoulder construction to use only one servo. However this would be an expensive thing because I need a servo and the brackets and a new holding plate and so on.

So I guess it would be better to switch the two YangDong servos to other ones. But witch type is good, strong and has low tolerance at the gear. The original SES arm use two HS-645. But is this the best choice. Is it useful to use digital servos or stronger analogue ones maybe from an other manufacturer?

Because I do not want to change the shoulder servos over again I hope someone who has more clue than me can help me.

Thanks

mws

No Idea anybody?

Well, it depends what kind of use you want to use your arm for. I would say two HS-645s will do fine but, if you have somehting so heavy that you don’t think two HS-645s you might have to upgrade your elbow servo as well.

Hi,

no I want to move gaming pieces for games like checker or chess.

So I guess I will test two HiTec 645 Servos and try to adjust them as good as possible.

I think two HS-645s will work fine for picking up chess pieces. It might even be overkill but thats ok. :smiling_imp:
