What Power Supply Will Work For My Project

Hello,

I’m starting a new project and need to use some small but strong servos for my DMX Servo Control Board. I want to run 4 Servos at the same time and my concern is power that won’t brown out or hurt my servos. I want to run 2 of these:

servocity.com/hs-7950th-servo

And 2 of these:

servocity.com/hs-m7990th-servo

What Power Supply will work for these?

Thanks,

Jaimy

Hi,

Both HS-7950TH and HS-M7990TH servos works at 6V-7.4V.
HS-7950TH consumes 4.8A (at 6V) under stall that can be approximated to 1.2A continuous (25% of stall torque current draw).
HS-M7990TH consumes 9.8A (at 6V) under stall that can be approximated to 2.45A continuous (25% of stall torque current draw).
2 x HS-7950TH and 2 x HS-M7990TH continuous current draw can be approximated to 7.3A (at 6V).
A 6V 10Amps power supply should be enough. If your system will need to be autonomous and should be powered by a battery, a 7.4V LiPo Battery with a maximum discharge rate of 10A (5C) could be used.
Example : 7.4V, 2000mAh, 5C LiPo Battery
