What is the current draw on the 200kg button load cells?

We are trying to use 5 of the 200 kg button load cells to measure and display forces using a Raspberry PI. I have read about using a voltage amplifier to amplify the signal from the load cell; can you connect more than one load cell to an amplifier? What is the current draw from each of these load cells? Thanks in advance.

Hey @CMark95

can you connect more than one load cell to an amplifier?

You can only connect one load cell per channel on an amplifier. Let’s take for example the Load Cell / Wheatstone Amplifier Shield (2ch), you can only plug two load cell on this amplifier shield.

What is the current draw from each of these load cells?

That would be depending of your load cell. The current consumption for a load cell will be excitation voltage divided by input resistance.

Any idea what material the wiring is or what the resistivity of the wiring provided with the load cells is? Thank you.

@CMark95 Considering we do not have any information on your load cell, cannot guess.

I would suggest contacting the manufacturer for this, they could/should have that information.
