What do I need to make the claws retractable on wolverine claws?

Hi

I am trying to make some wolverine claws that are retractable. I am going to do a 3D printing of the claws but I don’t have a clue of what motor or whatever to make the claws slide in and out. I have never done anything electrical like this but I am eager to learn.

Does anyone have a list of materials/parts needed and how I would put them together. It is for my nephews birthday so I would be grateful for any help.

Can’t say we have made any tutorials specific enough for this project. Might want to look at YouTube videos (of which there are many) which actually detail step by step how to make the claws.
