What components would you rocomend I buy

Hello

I am completely new to programming and robot controls. I have used servos in radio control gear before but never delt with my own designs.
What I am wanting to do seems simple but I am a little lost.
I want to have a servo rotate through 180 degrees when I switch a rocker switch and then rotate back when the switch is switched off. It needs to run at a smooth slow-ish speed.

Any advice or info as to what components and what I would need to do to make this work would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
David

Hi didge_player,

Welcome to the RobotShop Forum. The first approach is to look through the servo motor controllers category to see if there is anything which can work out of the box. You will see quite a few controllers which use knobs (allowing you to control the position), but none with rocker switches. If none of these suit your needs, consider the PICAXE-08M Servo Driver Kit, which can accept a digital input, and also controls a servo. Note that you would need to program it to do what you want using the PICAXE programming cable. You would be able to use a push button, rocker switch or other input. Read through the manual to know exactly how to make the connections and program the board.

Hope this helps,
