What can be done with the SES?

Hi!

I just wanted to know what I ,could do ( with the SES) after buyiung the BRAT, like for under 400$ of buying oher SES pieces, what other robot could I do?

thx

Let’s see… you could make a small arm.

You could make a snake (I always wanted to make one of those).

You could convert them all to continuous rotation and make a six-wheeled rover.
Or a four wheeled rover with a pan and tilt.

You could make an inch worm (although that sort of fits under a different movement of the above snake).

If you get powerful enough servos, you can later buy more servos and build arms for your biped.

The possibilitys are vast.

If you can afford it, though, I’d suggest going with stronger servos, since it will increase the versatility of what you can later build.

ok, like the 5645MG servos (for a more versatile biped)?

yep

Definitely.
Those are what I use on my 18DOF biped.
I highly recommend them.
They seem to have some onboard temperature controls, too, which is the only explanation that I can think of for how hard it is to burn them out.

You definitely get bang for your buck with those guys.

opk, but meen whil I would like to buy the BRAT and spend 15 bucks more to get the little gripper so I can make An am to. can I do that, do I have Enought servos? for this arm? lynxmotion.com/images/jpg/asb043.jpg

thx

Yep.
That arm uses five servos (the fifth one is hidden behind the gripper, and controls the gripping action).
That means you could mount the last servo on the bottom and your arm would have a 180 degree base rotation
But as I’m sure you know, there’s countless things one can do with an extra servo.

Will you have the right brackets for that arm?
Nix the gripper, you will.

sorry, I dont understand what nix meens and Will you have the right brackets for that arm?
Nix the gripper, you will.

what does it meen?

Sam

i think he means , not including the gripper, you’ll have the right brackets

ok thanks

Sam
