Weight balancing flight controller inputs (like a flying segway surfboard)

Hi everyone I’m quite new here and I am in the early research steps of trying to design a flying surfboard, yes I know it’s crazy but hey, dreams are allowed right?! So, I’ve done some calculations and to build this beast I will be using 16 industrial grade rotors onnected to a 12S 22000 mah battery pack each (Tattu Plus series).

So, instead of a transmitter/receiver setup, I want to use on board computing to have the flight controller respond to my weight balancing movements. I’m thinking pressure plates of sorts but I’m not sure what such technology is called so I have had hit a roadbump in my research. Any pointers and feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

Let me know if this is something that could work: https://www.robotshop.com/en/catalogsearch/result/?q=imu&order=relevance&dir=desc

An IMU is an Inertial measurement unit, I believe this could be a good to balance the board.
Unless you really want the board to reply to weight or pressure differences, I would suggest pressure pad like you mentioned.

They are also called force sensors: https://www.robotshop.com/en/catalogsearch/result/?q=force+sensor&order=relevance&dir=desc

Let me know if this helped.

Thank you yes force sensors seem to be what I’m looking for thank you! Now I just need to learn to build the flight code. I have no coding experience whatsoever but I found the CoDrone Pro kit to help beginners learn how to build and code their own drones. Any additional suggestions to relevant resources where I might learn to build my own flight code?
