HMI Servo Programmer Kit (HMIP-01)
Can this be used on any of the other Hitec digital servos? like the 5645s?
I haven’t done anything with it yet, but I suspect the answer is no, for obvious reasons. If not I’ll bet a program could be written with ribbotson’s notes pretty easily… I will find out.
It would be cool if there were some less expensive HMI capable servos. I’m not sure if HMI would be better than getting some analog servos converted to Open Servos though. There don’t seem to be any decent analog servos with more than 133 oz/in torque.

I think the torque isn’t just dependant on the motor/gearbox, the electronics can make a difference too.
In my opinion you could make an analog servo handle more torque with eg. an openservo electronic design.
