We are a company looking for some help with stepper engines

hi

  1. We are a Norwegian based company doing some R&D for a new design/ product, but we need help in getting three drawers open with a button and close with the same button. ( touch less if possible) The drawers are light weight and content is for medical equipment so all in all the each drawer should have a max weight of 0,5-1 kg.

  2. The lenght the motor need to push the drawer is 22cm

  3. We need blue-light lightning up the content of the drawer.

  4. We could also be interested in making a subcontract if we find the right people/ firm helping us create the pilot.

Further development is fingerprint access with logging to the drawers, small robotic arms doing varies tasks, shaking one of the drawers according to a certain frequency, Lcd screen showing inventory on the top of the box, Bluetooth access etc…

But the first we need help with is to construct the three motors pushing the drawers out of the box. We need help to get this finalized within 2-4 weeks and are willing to compensate for services.

I’ve used stepper motors to drive a CNC’d Sherline mill and lathe. Probably a similar task. You’d need stepper motor drivers, and a CPU (Arduino?) to sense the switches and generate step/direction pulses.

What about limit switches?

Hi Marius,
I think we can help you, this needs a simple program to let drawers out and in through stepper motor and motor drives and connect to the button , we need to edit the program to make it come true, if you need my help, i’d like to know more details about this, such as the drawers information
(you want 3 drawers in and out at the same time or one by one? ) and it also refer to driving method? or in-out time requirements?
you can contact me by emails (kevin,chen@snowitmotor,com), Skype: kevinchen122411, facebook:https://www.facebook.com/littleairman.chan.
we are a comprehensive company in China which specializes in producing and researching stepper motor ,motor driver and kind of solutions to motor transmission problem. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately RobotShop does not offer consultation / design services. If you are prepared to design and build it yourselves, we may have some ideas, but would need to know the max travel for the drawer, and if you are prepared to modify it (i.e. remove some material either from the drawer or the cabinet it’s in).
