WaveShare AlphaBot won't Power up

Hi All,

Am new to robotics and I purchased my first basic robot building kit from Waveshare, Alphabot powered by Raspberry Pi and with Pi Camera. The assembly and raspberry installation went really well and I doubled checked the cabling and everything. For Alphabot assembly is simple and straightforward.

I installed and configured the raspberry pi and set it up as headless system with VNC and SSH control over wifi. Am planning to use the provided demo codes from Waveshare.

Unfortunately after fully charging the batteries and installing it. The robot wont power up, is there any troubleshooting steps I need to follow to ensure there is nothing missed by me while assembling the bot. Seriously hoping I have not damaged anything or shorted a connection.

Hope batteries will provide the power to servos, sensors and raspberry pi and I don’t need to add anything else. One thing is to highlight is that the kit was with my fren who didn’t use it for around a year, so I though batteries might be dead, but they seems to have power and our fully charged.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Thanks
Cybeh

Hi,

We recommend that you check the manufacturer’s Wiki for more information. If this does not help, you may want to contact them directly for a faster response. You can do so here.

Sincerely,

Thanks, for the response. Wiki and user manual is good but not idiot proof :stuck_out_tongue:. I managed to make it work. I removed the Pi, reconnected all the sensors and cables and voila it started. Demo codes and all work great.

Will soon post a assembly and demo video for other beginners like me.

Thanks
Cybeh

Hey Cybeh,

Glad to hear it worked out!

Posting how you resolved the issues from the manual is a great idea! We are certain others will find it helpful, too.

Sincerely,
