Just finished watching The Iron Giant and was blown away by the graphics, story-line, adult themes, humor, drama and morally uplifting messages. Had no idea it was such a good flick - and I don't even like animated movies. And best of all, it had a giant robot.
Can’t say a single bad thing about The Iron Giant. Unlike the sequel to (the other giant robot movie) Pacific Rim, or the latest Transformers, The Iron Giant, as you said, had a very good plot. Would be interested to see a “live action” remake. Was hoping Netflix’s “NEXT GEN” would be similar, but was much more for kids.
This movie is an underrated classic. Did you know that Vin Diesel did the voice for the robot?
He certainly didn’t talk much though it was more than “I am Groot”.
Yes, they were going to use an electronic voice. Glad they didn’t. Saw that it only made back about half of its production cost. Too bad.
I was in the duck and cover generation but can’t actually remember doing the drills. Surprising as I grew up in Montana near the missile silos.
