The guide specifically states the USB port should face the front of the drone. But there is a big giant arrow on the board, which points to one side of the USB port. As seen here: robotshop.com/en/mwc-multiwi … tible.html Do I listen to the guide or the arrow printed on the board?

Very good to ask if you’re not certain. In this case, follow the instruction… 
When using MultiWii you can manually change all the sensor direction prior to load the sketch to the board.
The sketch we use is setup for the USB port up front since it’s easier and we had boards with and without arrows.
It’s just easier to always say “USB up front”
