VTail 500 Motors won't respond

Hi Guys,

I’ve been building up the Vtail 500 and I cannot get the motors to respond once they are plugged into the Flight computer.

Each of the ESCs have been individually calibrated and respond to throttle controls (when connected directly to the receiver).

The board I’m using is a MPU6050 MultiWii which communicates with my computer with no issues. In the flight configuration software everything is responsive to inputs from my transmitter/onboard sensors.

But when I plug in everything to the battery, the ESCs do their beeping thing (1,2,3 -pause-, long beep) after which nothing happens,

I have looked all over the net and can’t find my problem, any assistance/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alleycat,

When using a MultiWii based board, the motor won’t turn by just raising the throttle.
You need to “ARM” the board with the proper transmitter sequence.

Be careful, when Arming the board the motors will start to spin at Idle

It is best to read a bit about it in our manuals to be sure you did all the setup needed :
Lynxmotion - MultiWi Software Configuration v1.1.pdf
Lyxnmotion - UAV Electronic Guide v1.1.pdf

Thank you for your rapid response.

In the end I mapped a spare toggle switch to arm the motors because they would not arm from the sticks.

That’s probably because you didn’t adjust your End Points in your transmitter.
The signals need to range from 1000 to 2000 in MultiWiiConf
