VL Power Supply?

I am having similar power supply trouble as several posts in this thread in getting my SSC-32 L6 arm working well. So I am wondering…

Is there a better way to power the VL than 9V batteries?

If I was going to go down to Radio Shack and get a DC power supply (or scavenge one off my guitar effects board) what voltage and amperage range would work?

Or is this just asking for trouble?

There’d be nothing wrong with using another DC power supply for your VL if you don’t want to use 9v batteries. The SSC32 uses a very small amount of current, so you shouldn’t need to worry about that at all.
You should be able to use any supply with an output of :
6-9v, 80mA or higher.
At a guess. It depends if you are powering other sensors with 5v from the board.

By the way, you need a poll answer that’s for either. It really doesn’t matter.
