Hello everyone. I’m quite new at robotics so I decided to browse the web for additional info, that’s when I stumbled upon this site I am a student in the Philippines and currently am having a project of building a robot arm for instructional purposes. Just a simple pick and place motion will do. I am now looking upon the Lynx 5 and Lynx 6 kits, as well as the SSC-32 Servo Controller, for they seem to be easy to build and put together. The walkthroughs and manuals in the site are all helpful and allowed me to understand quite a bit on how to build and program the arms, however, I still need to be sure that I can create the project well, as to not waste money hehe
The RIOS software looks great, but I’m thinking of creating my own program for controlling the arm. I understand that I must establish a serial communication between the project and the PC, and then send signals to the controller through the said port. However, I still need to see some sample programs and the list of commands needed to do that task. Would you guys help me with this, could you post some sample programs that I may refer to in case I’ll be writing my own code? Thank you very much in advance and I’m very sorry for the super noobish requests. One more thing, how can I order and ship the kits here in our country? Thanks again, god bless.

There are a few downloads related to the arms.
In terms or the commands needed to control it, they can be found in the SSC-32 manual:
