Viper V2 kit ans radio control

I have assembled the Viper V2 kit recently received but not cannot get the V2 to respond to the T6EHP radio controller bought with the kit. The receiver is slightly different from the instructions with the plugs coming out of the end rather than upwards from the longer face so I was uncertain which way round to insert the plugs First time seemed to be incorrect so changed them the other way and the transmitter LED lit. There was no power plug but a small button on the end which I assume was for the “bind” function. I first tried to operate without any bind procedure but nothing happened. I then tried to “bind” by pressing the small receiver switch for 5 secs - the receiver led flashed a few times then stayed lit but the transmitter controls still did not operate anything. There is no “bind” button on the transmitter referred to in the kit in instructions.
I assume the there is no transmitter signal reaching the motor controllers (they still flash slowly). Please advise what I am doing wrong!

Hi Rus,

Can you post some pictures of your assembly and most importantly the wiring ?
The Receiver must be bind at the moment as if it wasn’t you did the right procedure to do it.

The T6EHP will not give you a mixing for the “Skid Steer” but you will be able to connect each motors output to one joystick Up/Down.

Thank you for your reply. I have a photo from email on my phone in .jpeg format and this message system does not seem to just let you attach a photo. I am not sufficiently skilled to know how to convert to the format for this. However the wiring I have done follows the picture given in the instructions which came with the Viper kit. Don’t know if this helps or if there is another way of transmitting the picture.
Many Thanks
Russ

Hi Russ,

A “.jpeg” should not be a problem to attach in our forum. Look at the picture we’ve attached to know more about the process of attaching a file.

Thanks for the advice. Hope the attachment is Ok. I have tried to spread out all the wiring for the purposes of the photo.

The first thing to notice on this picture is the location of the two ESC (speed controller) on the RadioLink R/C receiver.
You have them set to channel 6 and 7 which will not work as those are Auxiliary channels triggered by a switch on mixing inside the transmitter.

The first 4 channels will be connected to the two main joysticks.
CH-1 = Right joystick Left / Right
CH-2 = Right joystick Up / Down
CH-3 = Left joystick Up / Down
CH-4 = Left joystick Left / Right

In your configuration, you might want to get one ESC on the Left and the other one on the Right joystick Up / Down.

Thank you for that information. I now have the Transmitter operating as you list for Channels 1-4.
I now understand that my confusion has resulted from the instructions which came with the Viper kit which said that the transmitter has been programmed
with channels I and 2 mixed for single stick driving but this does not appear to be the case since it seems to be programmed in the way you list…
Obviously single stick driving would be easier if I knew how to programme in the way the instructions say it should be.
Unfortunately I am no expert with remote control transmitters but will have to try, bearing in mind this has to be operated by my 8 year old grandson.

Hi Russell,

One option would be to get a “Channel Mixer” that will go between the ESC’s and the receiver.
We are adding this item to our website, if you need it we might be able to do a Special Order for you.

Thanks for the suggestion, I would like to buy one. I couldn’t see it on the website but may have missed it. Are you able to let me know how best to buy one or should I email the Robot Shop?

Hi Russell,

You already have a ticket in our system so we will contact you directly there.
