Viper v2 Combat Robot and Spektrum

Hello! I would like to start a topic specifically regarding the Viper and use with Spektrum transmitters and receivers; I am completely new to this type of project, and require assistance.

Description:
The Spektrum transmitter/receiver run the robot straight forward or backward when pushed at 45 degree angle. Otherwise all functions are normal after basic troubleshooting.

Hardware concerned:
Fingertech Viper v2 kit,
Fingertech horizontal spinner add-on,
Spektrum ar410 4-channel receiver,
Blade MLP4DSM transmitter (with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX Technology)

Software concerned:
tinyESC v2.6

Troubleshooting steps already taken:
The Viper manual says to plug the right tinyESC into ch1, left tinyESC into ch2 and spinner motor controller into ch3. The Spektrum receiver channels are not as described, but are as follows:
Channel 1 is the left stick up/down (spinner motor)
Channel 2 is right stick left/right (right drive motor)
Channel 3 is right stick up/down (left drive motor)
Channel 4 is left stick left/right (unused)

With the Viper plugged in as such, pushing the right stick up moves the LEFT drive wheel forward, and pushing the right stick left moves the RIGHT drive wheel forward. So pushing the right stick up and left moves BOTH drive wheels forward. The tinyESCs show solid green when in the up-left forward position and solid red in the down-right reverse position.

Additional information:
Possible fixes mentioned in other topics, but not followed up on include purchasing a channel mixer or possibly recalibrating the tinyESCs. Has anyone come up with a solution?

Thank you so much in advance for your help!

Hi,

We do offer this FingerTech tinyMixer that can be set to either Mixed or No-Mix (2-stick, aka “Tank” mode). You can have a better idea on the control in its User Manual here.
