Viper servo caught on fire

Hey I just got the viper kit with lifter in today put it together and did great. Went and get supper then charged the battery back up started to drive it and the servo caught on fire. Wiring is done correctly and nothing that I can see shorted out. Now I got to get a new servo what would be a better Quality one that will work. Only had it for 3 hours and can’t us it.

@Griffind5 Welcome to the community. We see the servo in question is likely used in the Lifter Add-On, correct?

A servo normally burns when it’s commanded to move to a position and is blocked - it’s not intelligent to know to stop trying and simply burns.
When installing the servo, it sounds like there was a chance that the angle of the horn might not have been correct when connecting the mechanics. It is incredibly, incredibly rare that a servo would burn with no resistance. The other possible cause might be if you were lifting an object which was either too heavy, or for an extended period of time (servos heat up and burn if not left to cool).

If you feel strongly that neither of these caused the issue, and nothing about the setup was wrong, we can look into an RMA exchange.
