Violation de cle?

Come on Laurent, this thing is challenging enough without you putting French landmines in it.

I’m stuck in the Sequencer and every button I press gives me a “Violation de cle” message.

I suspect I’m being bad…somehow.

Cheers, Harry

Hmmm. That translates to a Key Violation, but I don’t know what that means. :stuck_out_tongue: LOL

it that the whole error message and have you installed it on more than one machine??

The database driven program uses dot net. Have you updated any dot net programs or features?

That was the whole message and I’ve only got this on one machine. It actually happened when I tried to insert a sequence.

Not a big deal, I was just interested in what it might mean. I just shut down the program and restarted it and the problem went away.

Harry

Hello Harry,

can you send to me the 4 files from the installation directory named :
MovesSeq.dbf
MovesSeq.mdx
ViewSeq.dbf
ViewSeq.mdx

if there’s corrupted data in, i will correct and send 'em back to you tomorrow…
maybe it’s due to a program or a computer crash ?

anyway, i will be able to take a look into these files to see if it’s due to a bug or something else…

does it occur each time you’re trying to insert a sequence in a specific project ?..can you tell me what was the previous thing you’ve done before it crash ? a delete or an append ? nothing special ?

‘Key violation’ mean you’re trying to add a record in the database with the same key as another record’s one already in the database.
A ‘key’ (key is “Project + sequence + step” fields) must be unique in the sequencer database.

i will test more with your files to try to ‘redo’ it…but any tips and clue about the way to make it show again are welcome, it will help to determine if there’s a bug…

anyway, sorry for the inconvenience

so, it was working fine after closing and restarting the software ?,
great news…did you saw some missing steps or weird things in the project which was causing the issue ?

Sorry Laurent, I’ve been trying to recreate the problem but have been unable to. All I can tell you is that I was trying to insert a Sequence when it started. After that it came up regardless of what I pressed.

Yes , when I closed the program and rebooted it worked perfectly again.

BTW, I’ve sent the files to your email address.

Cheers, Harry
