Vex IQ Robot Brain won't come out of internal test

I just purchased a Vex IQ Superkit for my son. Installed the battery into the brain, hit the “check” key, and it goes into something like a quality control test. It requests “cable 3” for loopback test, etc. We can’t seem to get it out of this mode.

Is this a unit that was not fully tested at the factory, or is there something we are missing?

Got the answer from Vex directly. Apparently the brain was not fully tested before shipping. I contacted their Customer Support and they are forwarding prepaid shipping labels to send it back.
