So, I was starting on building my second robot, and I didn't really find enough materials around. I found straws and chopsticks, so I cut them up, glue them, and made them into a cheap base for my robot.
For more info, visit http://danrobotics.weebly.com/very-very-cheap-arduino-platform.html
Materials:
- Your microcontroller
- Breadboard (same width as microcontroller)
- Glue-gun
- 4 pieces of straws
- 4 pieces of chopsticks
Step 1: Using the glue-gun, stick the 4 straw pieces on the board, 2 on opposite sides (see above picture)
Step 2: Attach the chopstick pieces onto the chip, 2 on opposite sides with approximately the same distance from each other so that the chopstick pieces can fit in the straw pieces easily.
Pro: Cheap, Able to separate microcontroller with the breadboard to modify the circuits
Con: Kinda flimsy, depends what kind of glue you use
…And that’s pretty much it…Sorry for the bad documentation :(. I’ll provide a video once I get another Arduino + breadboard or when the thing breaks down.
