Variable speed controller with automatic reverse

I was watching a video on youtube showing a variable speed camera slider with autoreverse. These are helpful for filming videos and I would need one with a motor powerful enough to lift about 25 pounds.

Problem is that I cannot figure out what board and components the controller is made out of. Can someone help me out? I’m thinking to power this off a LiOn battery, I guess. Open to suggestions. One really nice thing would be to power it from Nikon batteries but that is an extra complication–i just need to get the basic thing built for now.

Hi damonbowe,

We have a few DIY motorized sliders available here at RobotShop.

With a controller included:
V-Slider Motorized Complete DIY KIT - 60cm
V-Slider Motorized Complete DIY KIT - 120cm

Without controller and motor:
Motorized Camera Slider 60cm DIY Kit (NEMA & DC Motor Mount)
Motorized Camera Slider 120cm DIY Kit (NEMA & DC Motor Mount)

With an Arduino based microcontroller:
MakeBlock Project DIY Camera Slider

:slight_smile:

I’m working on a similar project. Are you still interested in doing something similar to that youtube video?

I have the camera slider, i am looking to buy the components to motorize it with automatic reverse polarity switch as well…

let me know
Thanks
Tomcas
