Utility plate of the S-type load cell,

On this sensor: https://www.robotshop.com/eu/fr/capteur-force-type-s-100-kg.html
You have 2 plates on both side screwed with 2 screws.
What is the purpose of this 2 plates?
Can I unscrew this 2 plates without disrupt the good operation of the sensor?

Welcome to the community.

You do need to keep them in place, as the load cell has been calibrated as so.
It’s a cover to seal the components of the load cell.
