Using the SSC-32 hex sequancer with a quadrupod

Is this at all possible?

Thanks!
George

yes and no.
it will work but not walk correctly.
its not the best or ideal way to do it.

I have done it this way before by assigning the legs ‘without the middle legs’ but you will have to program part of the code yourself to shift the body weight. it will also course you many issues so best not to. there is already better code available on the forum …Somewhere…

Thanks again. The reason I was thinking about a quad was that I didn’t want to spend money on extra servos… I think i’ll just bite the bullet and go for 18 rather than 12. How does the sequencer work? When I look on the documentation it shows

0 Right Rear Vertical 16 Left Rear Vertical
1 Right Rear Horizontal 17 Left Rear Horizontal
2 Right Center Vertical 18 Left Center Vertical
3 Right Center Horizontal 19 Left Center Horizontal
4 Right Front Vertical 20 Left Front Vertical
5 Right Front Horizontal 21 Left Front Horizontal

That only allows for two servos per leg doesn’t it? Or am I missing something?

From your list yes that looks 2dof.
Im confused what software you are looking at…
Do you mean the powerpod software
lynxmotion.com/p-566-free-do … erpod.aspx

Or sequencer. ?.
lynxmotion.com/p-443-ssc-32-sequencer.aspx

Powerpod will generate hexapod code for you after you tell the software your hardware…

Id look at the hexapod tutorials, assembly and setup. This will give you a good idea on what will be better for you.

Im looking at this: lynxmotion.com/images/html/build136.htm
which is the SSC-32 guide which has a sequencer with it.I haven’t seen that Powerpod software before but it looks pretty simple, do you know if it works well?

Thanks for answering these basic questions by the way!

Ok, referring to my first reply to this thread I thought you ment powerpod.
With sequencer its not really idea to program a hexapod to walk. It more for selective custom moves.

You can either used powerpod to make a hex walk, or download some software that you can just program your boards with using avaliable hexapod code.
Non of the tutorials say anything about using sequencer.

If yoyr building a hex then pick a tuti rial that best fits your hexapod design.

Thanks very much for all your help, I’ll look into my options.
