Using Lego to make a laser toy for cats

Hello,

I’d like to use Lego to build an automatic laser pointer toy to entertain my cat. I’d like to program it with multiple patterns and have it activate automatically at a certain time each day.

Is this possible and which Lego product would you recommend I buy?

If you want to use LEGO, the main kit which uses motors and a controller would be Mindstorms: robotshop.com/en/lego-minds … v3-us.html
Alternatively, you could get the same end effect using a pan/tilt and a small microcontroller, such as:

Many microcontroller options, the least expensive / smallest might be:
