Hi!
I am wondering if anyone has used AA batteries instead of the lithium battery for the mBots. If so, how much life did you get out of the batteries? I am debating doing batteries only instead of purchasing the lithium. Thank you in advance!

Hello
Battery capacity is measured in Ah (amps-hour), or mAh which means it can deliver a given value of current during an hour.
Now, the lithium battery makeblock propose is rated at 1 Ah, which means it can deliver 1 amp for 1 hour, which is a big amount for such a small robot and should last you a while.
AA batteries are kinda weird because their “capacity” vary depending on how much current they output. Depending on the setting, they could outlast the lithium battery or have half as much capacity. Source: https://www.powerstream.com/AA-tests.htm
In any case, I would recommend the lithium batteries because they are more reliable and rechargeable.
