Uses of pressurized air

Hi everyone !

I am a french engineering student and I am currently on an intership in a company who developed a new kind of gas capsule. One of my objectives is to find potentials new ideas of applications for this technology, so I thought that robotic would be great but I don’t have a lot of knowledge about this, so I would really like it if some of you had some suggestions ! Please don’t be shy, any suggestions would be very helpful ! And if you want to know more about this, I also made a quick strawpoll that you can answer if you want, I would be really grateful !

This is the strawpoll : docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp … A/viewform

Thank you for your time http://https://www.robotshop.com/forum/https://www.robotshop.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

Hi,

A potential robotic application for gas capsules could be its usage in UUVs. For example, to bring the UVV up to the water surface when the UUV goes too deep or a control/communication failure happens between the transmitter and the receiver. A pressure sensor can detect if the UUV has reached a certain level into the sea/water and trigger gas capsules avoiding the loss of the UUV.
Also, if the gas capsules developed have light weights, it can probably be used in the UAV field. For example, when an issue happens with the UAV, the gas capsule could inflate balloons with a certain gas (like hydrogen or helium) when triggered to cushion the falling of the UAV.
