Hello, I had built a robot and was interested in upgrading the motors and wheels to something that can maybe handle hauling about 5-10 lbs on top of it. The frame itself seems rigid enough.
It is a Sain Smart 4WD robot powered by a Raspberry Pi and a L298N board.
Page 6 shows existing right angle motors, but standard motors can be mounted according to same page
Current motors are 220RPM no-load, and 65mm wheels.
The chassis is made for that specific motor, so there are not many substitutes which would fit and increase the torque. The other issue is that the weight (5-10lbs) would likely break the motor’s shaft. As such, upgrading (which likely means drilling new holes into the frame) is not advised. You might save the frame and simply purchase a new one which is made to handle the payload: robotshop.com/en/wheeled-dev … forms.html
