Update firmware on mbot

Hello I bought an mbot from amazon and I need some help to update the firmware. I downloaded the app from make block and installed it. when I open the app I can not see connect/boards at the top. Is there a way to see this? I know the steps how to update the firmware once I can see these. I am using a macOS with Sierra version 10.12.6
