Underground Communication & Control

hi there I am planning to make a project like small boat that can go inside the water tunnel … this tunnel is more than 2 Km length and it not in straight line … I mean there are many turns within it and it is big enough for human to walk in it … so what kind of control technology I can implement here to control the project ??? can it be wireless control or it should be wired control ???

the other thing Is the camera !!!

there will be a camera in the project so I can see what happening in there but how to receive the video ?? can I use normal router with IP Cam in this case ???

thanks a lot in advance

Hi Zakariya,

For such a project, a wired connection would be the best if you don’t want to loose signal of either the controller or the video.
Most underwater robot are tethered (wired) for those reasons.

Seems like a nice project, keep us updated.

thanks for replay Mr.DiaLFonZo … actually it is not underwater robot … this robot will
Floats in the water ( does that make any difference???) !!!

thanks I will do for sure

I was under the impression that the tunnel was filled, sorry.
But even so, you might have issues with signals since there are turns / obstructions etc.
We cannot tell how far you will be able to go with either the video or control signal without testing in the environment.

oooh sorry for not being clear

as I thought this turns are the biggest problem now

anyway I will do what you said … I will go for testing and I will start with xbee an RF controller …

I will keep you update

thanks a lot Mr.DiaLFonZo
