Hi,
well i decided that the kid was right we could build robots, so I bought the "123 Robotic experiments book for Evil geniuses".
Good book easily read by some one like me with out of date electronic experience, the draw back is that it is US centric.
The parts to do the work with are very US sales based, no problem if in the USA but getting the US companies to sell to the UK is a bit of achallenge!
I have located most bits in the UK but still need:-
2 * 220 v 16pin resistor Dual in Line Pack ( am assuming that should have been printed as 220 Ohm )
1 * CKN9009 momentary touch PCB mounted switch ( apparently no longer made) the PCB pin pitch does not match what I have located so far
1 *Basic Stamp 2 (e)
Any one on here from the UK want to point the way to sourcing these parts ?
Thanks
Y-Geo
you can substitute
you can substitute individual 220 ohm resistors for that dip package, its really just for conveniance.
similarly the pcb momentary switch, anything vaguely similar will do, its just a matter of bridging a connection.
heres a couple of uk sellers for the stamp 2 e:

UKJ parts etc
DJ,
Thanks for that info. The "220 " may be the part code and the actual value may or may not be 220 Ohm but rather 22 Ohm from a source elsewhere and not knowing the Stamp Chips cct I have no way of verifying which is correct? Ideas?
I will pick up a switch at maplin and fiddle it to suit :-} getting to “hack stuff” before I get started LoL
Gonna take alook at the 2 souces of Stamp you gave ASAP
Thanks again.
