I am looking for at least one UAV kits for educational purpose for high school students (agriculture, no electronic engineers). The UAV should be able to take pictures (of fields).
The students should understand the main components making up the drones (-> so the kit; build and disassemble the UAV), be able to access the software part (Open Source) and use the UAVs for tests (-> simple pilot system). Autonomy is not important.
In a second step, they should have the possibility to modify the UAV for other purposes. Same idea as the ‘‘Lego’’, I mean changing motors, cameras, frame (limited modifications).
That’s a long list of features.
We do not have something off-the-shelf that can fit all of them.
If you want to be able to change the code, we would suggest something like our Lynxmotion Quadrino Nano which rely on a MultiWii compatible flight controller.
