Hi All, new to The forum and electronics but would like some advice on what products I need for my project? I have a large animatronic pneumatic character that I would like to turn electronic (so it doesn’t need a noisy air compressor and eventually be made mobile), it’s a large character and I’m thinking I need to swap the pneumatic actuators for linear actuators (some of them do carry quite some load) but not sure how they are controlled. I do have gilderfluke mini bricks 8’s which controlled the pneumatics but what do I need to make electronic actuators work (in/out) to create as realistic movement as possible. Also what is best way to control the mouth so it’s as realistic as possible? Any advise a build and products would be appreciated? Thanks
Hello @Pcj2003,
Welcome to RobotShop community.
For a start you need to determine the forces on each joint and how far you need the actuator to move.
Also, do you need to control this character manually or program it as humanoid robot?
It would be better if you share the current design of the character.
Awaiting your reply.
Sincerely,
