Hello, I want to try to create my own robot but I know I am going to have to buy a control system that I will be able to program (Like the Bricks in LegoMindstorms or the Cortex for Vex Robotics). I can’t find what I am looking for in stores online, so I’m hoping someone here knows more. I am going to use some motors that I have, and cut steel for the body of the bot. thanks in advance.
Have you looked around on this website at all? There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of examples where people have done what you are trying to do. Many of them have posted plenty of details to copy what they have done. There are also dozens of tutorials on how to get started, including what you will need.
I recommend you look around, do a little bit of research, then ask specific questions of things you aren’t clear on.
There are quite a few people here, including me, who are MORE than willing to HELP you with your project. I don’t think any of them are willing to do it for you.
From experience I know that people who are unable or unwilling to do a LITTLE bit of research, like clicking the Robots tab above, aren’t ever going to build a robot. If I spend a lot of time now explaining it to you it would be wasted time.
You are going to need to give us more details. How big do you want it to be? What kind of motors do you have? What do you want the robot to do? Do you want it to act on its on (autonomous) or be controlled by some sort of transmitter? What kind of skills and experience do you have? Are you good with tools? Do you know any electronics? Have you ever done any programming? What kind of budget are you working with? Do you have someone near you who has expereience with any of those things or are you going to need to get all your help over the Internet?
